Privacy Policy

VALOPEDIA ("this site") respects your privacy and collects only what it needs to work. This page describes, feature by feature, exactly what the site collects and how it is handled.
1. What we collect
The list below is everything. No feature on this site asks for your name, address, phone number, or email address - except where you choose to write one into the feedback form.
Cookies
- vp_picks - records which side you picked in a match prediction. It exists to stop the same person voting repeatedly, and is not tied to your identity.
- VALOPEDIA_LANG - remembers your display language (Japanese, English, or Korean).
Browser storage (localStorage)
Your match predictions are kept on your own device so they still show after you leave the page. This is not sent to our servers.
Analytics
To understand which pages are read, we use Vercel Web Analytics and Google Analytics (GA4). Vercel Web Analytics does not use cookies. GA4 does use cookies and records the pages viewed, the referrer, an approximate region, and the device type. Neither is used to identify individuals.
Feedback form
What you send through the form is stored so we can reply and improve the site. Giving a name or contact detail is optional. Whatever you write is stored as-is, so please do not enter anything you would not want recorded.
IP address
Solely to rate-limit repeated voting, IP addresses are hashed and counted temporarily. The IP address itself is not stored.
2. Why we use it
We use what we collect only to (1) display the site and run its features, (2) prevent abuse such as multiple voting, (3) understand which pages are read so we can improve the site, and (4) respond to enquiries. Nothing else.
3. Third parties
We do not sell or rent what we collect. Running the site involves the following services, and information is sent to them for that purpose.
- Vercel - hosting and analytics. Handles request data when you visit.
- Google - analytics (GA4) and search performance reporting (Search Console).
- Notion - where feedback form submissions are stored.
Please refer to each provider's own privacy policy for how they handle data.
4. If you would rather not accept cookies
You can disable cookies in your browser. The site remains readable, but match prediction voting will not be accepted and your language choice will not be remembered. Google Analytics can also be disabled with the opt-out browser add-on that Google provides.

We will update this page if what we collect or which services we use changes. Significant changes will be announced on the site.
